The weather wasn't good but we were welcomed, offered umbrellas and given a brochure on the layout of the gardens. Fortunately the slight drizzle was a minor inconvenience which did nothing to spoil our visit. There was an avenue of thousands of orchids, followed by pathways through ponds and rest spots with hammocks, swings or benches. The gardens are well maintained and largely natural rainforest with an abundance of birds. We had a picnic lunch so had more incentive to relax in one of the well positioned "rest" spots.
On returning to the entrance we were given a glass of cordial but when we made our way towards the covered orchid nursery were told that area was for staff only. I don't think there were many flowering orchids there anyway - they were probably all on display in the gardens. It was worth the visit.
