Highly reccomend a 3 day trek out of Huaraz that the groups call the Churup trek. Different from the Lake Churup day hike, this is a 3 plus day loop. Day 2 is a challenging but beautiful pass over 5400m and the walk out is a meditative valley. Far fewer people than the popular Santa Cruz trek, and this one challenges you by carrying all your own stuff instead of burros. Paid 300 soles with Montrek plus entry into the park, 65 soles.
