The COPE Center was the highlight of a nine day trip to Laos. Whether you know anything or nothing at all about the secret war and the US dropping bombs in Laos, it is an educational center that not only teaches you about the impact of unexploded ordinances, but that also gives you a chance to consider what it is like to live in Laos as an amputee.
With both educational and interactive displays (you can walk up steps in a low-tech prosthetic leg), you will walk away with a greater understanding of the challenges that impact the future of development in Lao PDR. If there is any "tourist" attraction to see in Vientiane, this is it.
