Give Yourself More Time

I will be going back to the church at a later date in a smaller group and that will enhance my ability to truly appreciate the experience. I can tell you now that the church is set up first and foremost to be a church, not a tourist attraction, and this is right and as it should be. I advise a visit to the 1st century tombs in the back, off the Syrian chapel, for sure. Go with someone or something that can explain what you are seeing, or it might not mean much more than a sensory overload.
