We've made it to Malaysia, crossed the border about 10pm last night where we had to hop off our amazing VIP Bus to exit Thailand and then again 15 mins later to enter Malaysia. We have been granted 90 day visas but will only be here for 10 days then back to Thailand for Christmas!
After taking the speedboat from Koh Lipe to Pak Bara pier, we had a mini van transport us to Hat Yai where we refuelled with a cheeky McDonalds! The bus was amazing, so comfortable, huge soft seats, foot rests and blankets, so we got a few hours sleep before arriving in KLat 5.30am local time. We are now 8 hours ahead of GMT.
We couldn't check in to our hotel until 11am but they allowed us to drop our bags and we killed a few hours walking around the KLCC area where we saw our first glimpse of the unbelievably huge Petronas Twin Towers.
We had a lazy few hours at the hotel to recharge our batteries and are now sat having a quick beer and wifi session at the foot of the towers which are now lit up and look very impressive! We're then off to see the new Hobbit film in 3D at the snazzy designer mall and cinema complex over the road.
Looking forward to a few days of mooching around the city and particularly excited about visiting the annual street food festival at the central market tomorrow where there's a feast of traditional hawker food stalls and traditional dance performances, and we're planning on heading up the Menara KL for a panoramic view of the city!
KL is clean, friendly so far, very busy and good atmosphere, everyone speaks great English and just like Bangkok, the metro is far superior to anything in England and very user friendly- 30p per journey too :)
Will add more soon..... Love Stace and Tom xxxx
