There are many wonderful chateaus along the Loire - all with their unique cultural ambiance. I liked this chateau especially because it is a tangible part of the city below. Its high walls run straight into the buildings below, and with its dirty white color and blend of Gothic/Renaissance style, it creates a very picturesque setting.
It was one of the only castles I've seen that I liked as much from the inside as from the outside. The views are great from the top and the garden is beautiful.
