In the Navy Yard, you can visit the wooden frigate USS Constitution which is still an active navy ship with ceremonial and educational purposes. The soldiers on board of the ship can provide you with interesting information and answer all your questions.
Another ship in the Navy Yard that can be visited is the USS Cassin Young, a destroyer that served from 1943 - 1960.
The visitor center next to the USS Constitution has a small but very interesting exibition about the navy yard.
The USS Constitution Museum next to the dry dock is only interesting for small children. The information for adults is very boring and certainly not worth making a contribution (as asked by the receptionist as soon as you walk in.)
