After settling down at our apartment in Chatelet, Paris, we got a bite to eat at a gyro and pizza eatery two doors down. The food was pretty reasonable, about 7 euros for gyro, soda and chips or 5 euros for a slice of pizza. Plate was big enough for two persons.
Now that we are recharged, we slowly made our way down towards the Seine River, taking in the beautiful scenery of old buildings, bridges, barges, river, etc.
Since it was a scenic walk, it didn't seem to take a long time to reach the Louvre. It was about 7pm and the sun was still shining.
From the palace grounds of the Louvre, we walked towards Champs Elysees. There were a lot of individual African vendors selling souvenirs at really reasonable prices.
We meant to go to the Louis Vuitton flagship store but stopped short of the store to get to Eiffel Tower since it was getting late.
We left Chatelet at around 5pm and reached Eiffel Tower around 10pm but it didn't really feel like it was a long walk. However, we had to make sure we catch the last subway train back to Chatelet before service stops at midnight.
We enjoyed the Eiffel Tower being lit up at around 10 pm since the place was still bright.
