London Cabbies sometimes refer to Boadicea, the famous charioteer as the first woman driver in London because she is not exactly holding the reins. Only women can drive well with no hands :)
Legend has it that, unwilling to be taken prisoner by the Romans, Boadicea and her daughters took poison, dying close to Londinium and lie buried under what is now Platform 10 of Kings Cross Railway Station.
I understand that, among other factors, this is part of why JK Rowling chose this spot as the magical portal for the Hogwarts Express to Hogwarts Castle, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry which leaves from Platform 9 3/4 at Kings Cross!
In reality, the last battle fought by Boadicea was probably fought on the plain north of Euston. Interestingly, it is the Euston Railway Station that leads us to the Warner Brothers Studio Tour of the Making of Harry Potter! Cool, right...
