We loved Asheville, and paid a visit- for about 4 hours- to Biltmore, the Vanderbilt mansion. It, and the grounds, were, suffice to say, very impressive.

I loved the chateaux in the Loire Valley. Junior year of high school in France, I got to spend a semester studying their architeture in history of art, and then our entire class went and toured them. Incredible.

A home with 4 acres of floor space, 250 rooms, 34 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms, 65 fireplaces (all of which were lit for this Christmas candlelight tour), and 67 beautifully decorated Christmas trees of all sizes?
